Banking management is the strategic process of planning, organizing, and controlling a bank's operations and resources to achieve its objectives, primarily maximizing profit and ensuring smooth operations for customers.
The course Fundamentals of Banking Management represents a logical evolution of university courses such as: Currency and Credit, Fundamentals of Banking Activity and aims to familiarize students with the peculiarities of the organization, functioning and financial management and personnel of banking institutions in the conditions of a market economy. The course is based on the study and analysis of current aspects regarding the peculiarities of banking management and responds to the need for in-depth knowledge of the organization and functioning of banking institutions in the Republic of Moldova in the conditions of the dynamization of financial and banking operations and a constant trend of progress. Students will master both theoretical approaches regarding the purpose, principles and content of banking management, as well as practical aspects regarding the instruments, methods and strategies of managing the activity of a commercial bank. The seminars are oriented towards conducting debates aimed at using the knowledge gained in the course, solving case studies and capitalizing on the recommended bibliography.
