The Risk Management course provides students with a systematic introduction to the concepts, methods, and tools used to identify, assess, treat, and monitor risk within organizations. Built around the theoretical foundations of risk management (frameworks such as ISO 31000, and risk typologies — financial, operational, strategic, project, and compliance risk), the course pairs conceptual grounding with practical application: qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, risk matrix construction, exposure measurement techniques, and treatment strategies (avoidance, mitigation, transfer, acceptance). Through case studies and applied exercises, students develop critical thinking and decision-making skills under uncertainty — competencies essential for roles in management, finance, internal audit, or consulting. The course concludes by situating risk management within an organization's broader strategic decision-making process.
